CFL Pass

The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that Hamilton Tiger-Cats running back Cameron Marshall has been named the CFL’s Top Performer for Week 21.

Marshall, 28, registered 18 carries for 109 yards and a career-high two rushing touchdowns in Hamilton’s 21-18 home win Saturday against Toronto. The 5-11, 215-pound native of San Jose, California also recorded three receptions for 24 yards in the game to help the Tiger-Cats remain undefeated at home in the 2019 regular season with a perfect 9-0 record for the first time in franchise history. Marshall also finished the season as Hamilton’s leading rusher with 50 carries for 307 yards. The Tiger-Cats started six different players at running back in 2019 and 13 players had at least one rushing attempt throughout the season.

Saskatchewan’s A.C. Leonard and Winnipeg’s D.J. Lalama, second and third in voting respectively, join Marshall (1st) as this week’s CFL Top Performers. The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office. The panel includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
