3DownNation power rankings: Shuffle among the elite

Since the season kicked-off in June only three teams have held the No. 1 spot in 3DownNation’s power rankings.

The defending champion Calgary Stampeders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. It’s the same trio of squads who can clinch playoff spots in Week 15. Aside from the Saskatchewan Roughriders who have an argument to be part of the group, the Stamps, Bombers and Ticats are the elite clubs in 2019.

The power rankings are done by having 3Down contributors rank each team from No. 1 to No. 9. The team with the fewest “points” gets the top ranking with each subsequent club receiving rankings two through nine. The previous week’s rankings are listed in brackets.

1. Calgary Stampeders (2)

Tre Roberson is a freak and single-handedly kept the Stamps at No. 1 with his field goal block.

2. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3)

The Bombers thoroughly enjoyed the bye week after a Banjo Bowl blowout.

3. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1)

The Ticats played well for 30 minutes but it wasn’t enough to hang on for a win snatched away by Tre.

4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (4)

Brett Lauther’s leg always swings true in the most crucial moments.

5. Montreal Alouettes (5)

Vernon Adams Jr. seems like he’s here to stay as a starting quarterback in the CFL.

6. Edmonton Eskimos (6)

All eyes on Trevor Harris and his playing status.

7. Toronto Argonauts (7)

Corey Chamblin has the Argos believing – somehow – they’re alive for the playoffs.

8. B.C. Lions (8)

Mike Reilly – covers head and looks around – wasn’t sacked once AND B.C. won.

9. Ottawa Redblacks (9)

Rick Campbell feels his team has lost confidence. Yikes.
