Chris Streveler, Willie Jefferson Named Shaw CFL Top Performers for Week 13
WINNIPEG, MB., September 10, 2019 – The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that quarterback Chris Streveler and defensive end Willie Jefferson have been named a Shaw CFL Top Performers for their work in Saturday’s win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Making his third start of the 2019 campaign, Streveler was 15-of-21 for 186 yards with TD strikes to Daniel Petermann and Johnny Augustine while also rushing 11 times for 70 yards and two QB-sneak TDs.
In a game full of highlights – for the Bombers, at least – one of the biggest was Streveler’s 21-yard run on second-and-10 in the second quarter in which he broke tackles from Micah Johnson and Cameron Judge before bouncing off others.
Jefferson continued to add to his remarkable season with a two sack, one forced fumble and three tackle effort Saturday afternoon. Jefferson has now accumulated two Top Performer nods for weeks 11 and 13 as well as being named the Top Performer for the month of August.
Now 9-3 and sitting in first place, the Bombers are also unbeaten at IG Field this season with a home record of 6-0. The team will return to IG Field September 27thfollowing a bye week and a road game in Montreal. Tickets can be purchased for the September 27th Retro Game here.
