Eskimo Empire podcast episode 49: ‘Twas the night before football…
The regular season is upon us! Featured Fan Joe B is back in the Turf District to regale us with more Esks stories and talk about his first time getting onto Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium, i.e. the Esks Kids Club is awesome. The fan question this week of how to bring 20- to 30-year-olds back to the game stirs up some great ideas.
The boys review the last preseason win by the Eskimos and who looked good on home field. The cuts came on Sunday and there were a couple surprises. Everyone surprised at the release of Natey Adjai and Cauchy Muamba. Both were outplayed for their spots and that brings up a discussion of who is left as part of the 2016 team.
The guys cover the rest of the CFL preseason games and some of the bigger cuts from each team. With CFL Pick ‘Em back, it’s time for picks for realsies. We mostly had consensus for winners except Andrew going off the board on game one. You can join the Pick ‘Em pool right here:
Finally, the return of the Empire Tradition, the reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Football rounds up the show. Redone for this year’s teams, it’s a great way to be ready for week one! Game previews return this week, too! They will be out Fridays with another writeup. Lots of great fans and guests to come as the Esks start their defense of The Grey Cup.
