Eskimo Empire Podcast #37: Eight (other) teams, eight questions
The Eskimo Empire Podcast has invested its CFL offseason so far in coverage of all things Esks, so for episode 37, it’s time for a CFL Roundup! Featured Fan Chad returns to talk with Andrew and Uncle Tim about free agency moves by the CFL’s other eight teams and some of the proposed new rules.
So many questions and they are covered here: did Montreal make too many moves with the salary cap? Is Trevor Harris right for Ottawa? Will Liram Hajrullahu be rejuvenated in Toronto? What about Chad Owens in Hamilton? Was Paul LaPolice the biggest signing in Winnipeg? Will Chris Jones’s guys be better for Saskatchewan? Will Bakari Grant make up for receiver losses in Calgary? Will the big running backs work in BC? All these and more are answered by the guys.
In the breakdown of the new rules, Uncle Tim wants to see more referee education. Andrew can get behind the changing of the blocking rules, and Chad plays devil’s advocate and changes everyone’s mind. The rule changes aren’t as drastic as last year’s, but there’s lots to discuss for the upcoming season…
