Baby, dog disagree in predicting Grey Cup

After a storybook season in which no one had reckoned they’d be playing in the 103rd Grey Cup, the Ottawa RedBlacks are indeed in the CFL’s final game.

So what do the youth – and animals – think about the conclusion of this Cinderella story?

A few years ago, networks began a trend in predicting big games such as this Grey Cup in allowing animals and the like to predict game outcomes. Perhaps the most noteworthy and successful was Paul the Octopus, who served as a modern-day Nostradamus in picking 2010 World Cup soccer matches. (Heck, who wouldn’t rather watch the cephalopod deciding over, say, Alexei Lalas yukking it up about the pathetic state of Team USA?)

So in 2015, the trend continues, with a couple more amateur prognosticators weighing in on Sunday’s championship game – and let’s just say RedBlacks fans and their teams will have more to add to the “nobody believed in us” fire.

First up is Twitter stud Joe Balenski’s little tyke, who vacillates for only seconds before choosing daddy’s (and the bookies’) favourites:

Jackson the dog got into the prediction game shortly thereafter at the behest of CKX radio in Manitoba; the canine is quite a bit more indecisive in his pick (he must have heard on the 2 And Out CFL podcast that this Grey Cup just might be closer than most think), but ultimately comes down on the side of the underdog (hee hee).
