It’s a Xmas Carol on 2 And Out, ep. 27: Talking Grey Cups past, present, future
Episode 27 of the 2 And Out CFL podcast, hosted by CFLpass lead writer Travis Currah and Saskatoon-based sports journo John Fraser, is now available online. And what else would this episode be about but the 103rd Grey Cup, going down on Sunday? The guys travel through time to discuss Grey Cups past, present and future.
Taking a quick glance back to last week, Currah blows away some of the recent negativity about the CFL in the public sphere. More fun is the question, “How good and/or historically significant was the Greg Ellingson catch? And is the call by Ottawa radio play-by-play man A.J. Jakubec the best in sports all season?
Currah and Fraser go on to do a lot of reminiscing about past Grey Cups and Grey Cup Festivals, including details on the insane trip to B.C. “in a Toyota Matrix with summer tires.”
And before laying out their pick for the Grey Cup winner – spoilers: there’s a reason the show opens with 2 And Out vs. the Edmonton Eskimos theme song – Currah and Fraser also seek answers to the questions, “Why are Tiger-Cats fans on social media so angry?” and “Who will win a championship first, the Toronto Maple Leafs or Winnipeg Blue Bombers?”
