Brandon Bridge to start for Alouettes – Finally

At the beginning of this season, I made a prediction that Brandon Bridge would be the first Canadian quarterback to start a CFL game since Giulio Caravatta did it for the Lions in 1996. It took until Week 20 but it’s finally going to happen…

I know that it’s a nothing game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the final game of the season but it still counts, right?

Jamie Thomas of Sportsnet made mention of his disappointment in the Montreal Alouettes for not giving Bridge more of a shot in the latest episode of the 2 and Out Podcast (go to about 22:32 in) but Bridge finally gets his chance Sunday in Regina.

How can you *not* cheer for this kid? Playing against a dismal secondary in Saskatchewan should go a long way towards making Bridge look like he belongs in this league too. Who *hasn’t* lit them up this season?
