Riders trade Kevin Glenn, Jerome Messam in deadline deals
It’s been rumored for weeks that the dismal Saskatchewan Roughriders would be shopping Kevin Glenn – the real question was whether Hamilton or Montreal would be the team that was buying.

Montreal is the 8th CFL roster that Kevin Glenn has been on, with only the Edmonton Eskimos missing from his résumé. Who *doesn’t* want to see Edmonton make this happen to complete the sweep?
Glenn had a great start to the season before injuring his pectoral muscle against the Tiger-Cats in Week 5.
Before injury:
115/159 for 1,483 yards; six touchdowns, five interceptions
Since returning from injury:
56/98 for 691 yards; three touchdowns, five interceptions
Montreal is desperate for a quarterback and it shows. They have now lost three straight but still remain in the hunt for a crossover date with either the Eskimos or the Stampeders.
And GM Jim Popp didn’t stop there…

Edem, a former 3rd *overall* pick gets traded for a 6th Rounder. How the mighty have fallen!
The Glenn deal wasn’t even the biggest trade the Riders were involved in, either.

This move puts Messam on his 5th CFL team and his 1,290 all-purpose yards puts him six yards ahead of BC’s Canadian workhorse Andrew Harris. Here’s a note for all players on the Saskatchewan Roughriders: Extended training camp starts *now*. All jobs are on the line.
Cornish will miss this week’s game against Toronto, but the possibility of Cornish and Messam in the same backfield is downright scary.
