Ian Wild Returns to the Blue and Gold

Amid rumors of his exit to join the University of Guelph, Winnipeg Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walterswas able to close a deal that would have linebacker Ian Wild back in Winnipeg through the 2017 season.

*That* didn’t work out well for Jasper Simmons.

Incidentally, Walters dismissed said rumors of his departure from Winnipeg.

Wild, rumored to return to Winnipeg since his release by the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, said he was just tired of waiting for another NFL opportunity. He isn’t just going to be hopping into the starting lineup though.

Over two seasons with Winnipeg, Wild recorded 142 tackles, four sacks and a fumble recovery for a score – though the key question Bomber fans are probably asking is, “Can he play quarterback?
