Stumbling Alouettes kick kicker, Collins, Roy aside
Following their second loss (both in pretty heartbreaking fashion) in as many games, the Montreal Alouettes have decided to shake things up.
#Als have released Sean Whyte, Dobson Collins and Bryn Roy. Only one kicker at practice - not two as I originally thought.— Herb Zurkowsky (@HerbZurkowsky1) August 10, 2015
Thanks MTL for 4 great years. Time to move on to another chapter in my life.— Sean Whyte (@SeanWhyte6) August 10, 2015
Whyte became one of the top kickers in the CFL during his time in Montreal: In all four seasons he made over 80% of his field goals while topping the 85% mark twice. It shouldn’t be long before Whyte has another job in the league.
Dobson Collins, on the other hand, may have it tough in finding another gig. If it weren’t for his fumble near the goal line against Calgary, the Alouettes could be .500 instead of two games under. The Montreal brain trust must really regret trading Kenny Stafford to Edmonton right now.
In Ottawa, the RedBlacks have released Jock Sanders and Keith Toston has been brought back to Calgary’s practice roster.
