Michael Sam could make CFL debut for Alouettes vs RedBlacks tonight

After weeks of hype, Michael Sam has finally been added to the Montreal Alouettes depth chart.

The former SEC Defensive Player of the Year sent ripples through the CFL community when he left Alouettes training camp in June for personal reasons. Many thought he’d never be back and that he’d just given up but as the Als host the RedBlacks tonight, Sam could be on the field for some plays. Montreal has a incredible depth on defense so there’s still work to be done for Sam to become a regular starter with the Alouettes, but it looks like he’s taken the time to adjust to the Canadian game.

It will be history making once he steps onto the field, but I think we’ll all be relieved once it happens.

After all, we’ll finally be able to talk about Michael Sam’s talent as a professional football player…
