Remember that leash on Matt Nichols in Edmonton...?
Let me start by saying CFL Pick ‘Em just isn’t getting any easier. Of course I thought BC had a chance to beat Edmonton especially since they were playing at BC Place where Travis Lulay is now an incredible 19-2 as a starter but the Lions entered this game on their heels with two consecutive losses.
Edmonton, on the other hand, came into the game riding a four-game winning streak and having enjoyed dominating wins over the Roughriders and Blue Bombers.
BC stopped that streak in its tracks. Edmonton took a lead into halftime but lost 26-23 as the Lions defense pitched a shutout in the second 30 minutes. This includes a bizarre decision to *not* kick a 48-yard field goal to tie at the end of the game, sending the Eskimo Empire into despair.
Matt Nichols isn't winning any fans over, either, going 26 of 42 for 262 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The metaphorical leash is growing shorter by the second.
Nichols will never be a legit starter. Manages game. No idea what to do in a 2 min drive. find a way to win with offence, not defence #Esks— Brad Bos (@BosBrad4) August 7, 2015
Edmonton is going to have to figure out their road woes soon as their next task is the tough Montreal defense in Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.
