Tiger-Cats on the mend (in time for Sunday...?)

While the Saskatchewan Roughriders desperately need their first win of the season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats aren’t going to be pushovers as they return to Mosaic Stadium this Sunday.

Remember when the Tabbies began training camp with three legitimate running backs in Mossis Madu, C.J. Gable, and Nic Grigsby? That seems like so long ago. Since then Madu has suffered a season-ending injury, Nic Grigsby has been released, and Gable is finally preparing for his regular-season debut.

If Gable can stay on the field, he’ll be a huge difference maker for the Cats. Ray Holley has only rushed for 87 yards through three games so Gable will take some pressure off of quarterback Zach Collaros.

It’s not as though Hamilton really needs help on defense but they’ll definitely welcome it. This is a team that held the league’s leading rusher in Tyrell Sutton to two yards last game. With Courtney Stephen and Rico Murray returning to the fold, the Tiger-Cats will be showing everyone why they were considered one of the deepest teams in the Canadian Football League when training camp got underway

It’s a match that’s too close to call, but Kent Austin will have his team prepared as they walk into the Mosaic Madhouse; I expect this to be the most exciting game of the week.
