Alex Suber signs in Saskatchewan

After being released by the Toronto Argonauts, Alex Suber has found himself a job in Regina.

Suber spent four years with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers before being traded to the Argos last year. With 249 career tackles, he could be a player that can provide leadership to help the Roughrider defense get back on track.

And help is what this defense desperately needs: Three of the team’s four losses came after fourth-quarter collapses, they’ve given up the most points in the league and they rank sixth in passing yards allowed per game. Add all that to the fact that Weldon Brown, Marshay Green, Keenan MacDougall and Mark LeGree have all landed on the 6-game injured list.

There’s definitely an opening in Saskatchewan that Alex Suber can fill with ease. At 5’7” and 173 pounds the “new rules in the CFL” should favour the small defensive back, too. If he can play well and keep the flags off the field, he could definitely prevent Rider Nation from *really* imploding.
