It’s Rakeem Cato, not Brandon Bridge, for Montreal
CFL fans will have to wait for Brandon Bridge to become the first Canadian quarterback to start a CFL regular season game since 1996, it seems: Rakeem Cato, the American rookie out of Marshall University, is up for the Montreal Alouettes after injuries to both Jonathan Crompton and Dan LeFevour in week one.
Cato had an incredible collegiate career with the Marshall Thundering Herd, throwing for 14,079 yards, 131 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions. He’s got the skills to lead the Alouettes but the assignment won’t be easy; the defending Grey Cup Champion Calgary Stampeders.
If Cato struggles, can we *please* see Air Canada get in there, Tom Higgins? For completely selfish reasons, I want that kid to succeed...
