CFL Pass

Now *that’s* a cannon! (And we don’t mean Jeff Mathews)

The CFL’s preseason opened last night with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats absolutely crushing the Ottawa RedBlacks 37-10. Ti-Cats rookie quarterback Jeff Mathews hardly looked like a rookie as he threw for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mathews played under head coach Kent Austin at Cornell, so the offense was familiar to him.

Mathews wasn’t my star of the game, though; check this out:

*That* device is my star of the game. Tim Horton’s Field is now completely finished in Hamilton, and a super-powered T-shirt cannon apparently comes with the place. They could pick pigeons off the CN Tower with that thing!

The Toronto Argonauts meanwhile open their preseason tonight at Varsity Stadium against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The game will be streaming live at 7:30 PM EST on TSN.ca.
