In case you hadn’t heard, CFL Free Agency version 2019 has opened – and all BC Lions and the Edmonton Eskimos have done is essentially rework their entire rosters.
Recorded just about 2½ days into this year’s madness – so don’t blame us for major omissions, please, really they weren’t our fault – was this week’s episode of the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast. The RWB has as guest for episode 132 a frequent returnee, Rod Villagomez of the Wood Cookie Sawcast and the Alliance Football Podcast.
Rod joins RWB co-hosts Joe Pritchard and Os Davis to lament the picking apart of the Ottawa Redblacks signing by signing – not to mention that, along with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats also losing big names plus the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes losing nothing but time, the East looks possibly even weaker than ever in 2019. (Whither art thou, o Atlantic Schooners?)
Also: Was the Bo Levi Mitchell *the* key signing of this offseason thus far, and how far can a razor-thin Stampeders roster go next year?
Joe and Os devote the second half of this podcast to discussing the departure of the RWB's former third co-host, Dr. Rouge; the recent “Outside the Lines” story detailing Bob Costas’s departure from NBC; certain off-the-field actions and (lack of) ethics thereof; and naturally the concussions/CTE issue. It does get a little dark, we’ll admit. Okay, Os gets a little dark.
